Looking for a Fabulous Wicker Patio Furniture Set

I love wicker.  I am now searching for a beautiful wicker patio furniture set and our deck.  I’d ideally like to find two sets.  A patio dining set and a lounging – or conversation – set.  What I like about today’s wicker patio furniture is that most of it is made of all-weather wicker and can be kept outside without aging or rotting.  It stays looking fresh and beautiful because it is made out of resin, rather than the reedy type of wicker from days past.

I am looking for a set that we can really sink into.  Looking for something so comfortable that we will want to spend hours outside enjoying it!  We love to sit outside with the family, including the kids and the dog, and we love to entertain, so I think whatever we chose will get a lot of use here in good ole Hotlanta, GA!  Can’t wait for it to be here!

Barbara Is Growing Up

My how fast Barbara has grown. I can remember when Barbara was just born. She smelled so sweet, fresh, and new, and she had soft, brand new baby skin. I remember when I was just first holding her in my arms, and she was wrapped in blankets. It seemed like it was yesterday that all of this happened.

Now, Barbara is three years old. She can read all of the simple children’s books, speak in complete sentences, and sleeps in a toddler bed. She is even completely potty trained. Barbara can also write her name and other simple words, and she can count to one hundred.

I am so proud of Barbara. She is one really smart girl, and she is learning everything so quickly. The doctor tells us that she is way ahead of children her age. That does not surprise me. Barbara has always been smarter than most in her peer group. She is very advanced for her age.

Summertime and Our Chess Game

Michelle and I have decided that we were going to play chess in the yard. Chess is one of our favorite games, and we have always played chess together since we were little kids. Michelle and I have been best friends since we were two.
The weather was nice for playing our chess game outside. The sun was shining high in the sky, and there were no clouds present anywhere. There was also a nice and refreshing breeze. The breeze was just what we needed to keep us from sweating our brains out.

We got our pitcher of lemonade, our chess set that we play with that contains the brass chess pieces, and our large umbrella that provides us with shade. Once we were all set up, the game commenced. The game was a close one. I remained slightly ahead of her for some time, and then she got ahead of me. In the end, she won by a very little. Nevertheless, we had a whole lot fun, like we always do.

We love our chess sets!

I Love Our New Electric Fireplace

My husband bought me a gorgeous electric fireplace entertainment center for Christmas. It was so huge and heavy that it sat in our foyer for 2 weeks before we were finally able to get it up the stairs into our bedroom. He had tried to call a service to get it up the stairs, but at Christmas time, they were bombarded with other jobs and just couldn’t get them to our house to haul it upstairs.

We finally got a burly neighbor to help, and even with two large, strong men, it was very difficult to get up the stairs. I was petrified that it would come crashing down the stairs and drop down into the basement, it was so heavy!

But luckily, they were able to get it upstairs. We unboxed it and set it up and it looks absolutely fantastic! We love it, and the beautiful ambience that it creates in our room. Not to mention the heat it gives off, especially during the cold, wet winter months.

We enjoy it thoroughly!
